It is said that the fourth industrial revolution had already begun. What do we have to do to nurture the talents needed for the 4th Industrial Revolution? From the perspective of educators, we hope that learners will have the ability to meet the new era. I referred to several places, the competencies for the new generation is called the four C’s. Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Critical thinking. In fact, all of these competencies are about how to solve new problems and to survive.
I propose that educational institutions to utilise various e-learning tools, open source software, and simulation tools to do “Learning by doing”. Of course, I do not think just using these tools doesn’t guarantee improvement the quality of education. It is important in what context to use these tools in a way to improve students’ creativity.
If you look closely at Scamper or Triz, the answer is there. These frameworks claim to have patterns in creativity. You can become creative by practicing such patterns. If it is true, we can reflect it in our education. This should be reflected largely in the curriculum of education, and it should be reflected in each lesson activity.
